Münchehof

Münchehof

Münchehof was established in 1938. The plant processes high-quality limestones quarried in the Winterberg which is processed into lime and limestone products. The limestone products (crushed limestone, limestone chippings, coarser limestone powders, pulverised limestone and mineral aggregates) are used in road construction, as concrete aggregates, in the plaster and mortar industry, in the iron and steel industry and in environmental protection. Preprocessed limestone is calcined in two kiln groups, each of which comprises of four kilns. The output is sorted into different categories. While a part is sold as lump lime, the bulk is ground into fine high-cal lime conforming to customer-specific quality parameters. At another stage of production, water is added to the fine high-cal-lime to produce hydrated lime. The main users of lime and hydrated lime products are the building materials industry, the iron, steel and metal industries, the chemical industry, environmental protection, waste water and drinking water treatment and road construction.
