Chemicals Legislation: REACH – Regulation (EG) No. 1907 / 2006

The REACH legislation came into effect on the 01/06/2007.  It states that a substance with a quantity of more than one ton is not allowed to be produced in the EU or imported into the EU, if it is not registered. For the completion of the comprehensive registration process the REACH-regulation allows a transitional period.      1. Products containing compulsory substances  

For the following products the Fels-Werke GmbH has registered the compulsory substances at the ECHA and has already achieved a confirmation for the sufficiency of the dossiers.

Registered Applications

The REACH consortium from the lime industry in which there are more than 300 companies, the registration of one or more from a total of 6 products containing lime, including Fels-Werke with the three substances as mentioned above. The registration shall include a chemical safety report (CSR) with exposure scenarios mentioned applications. The Lime REACH consortium has developed a list of known uses of these substances, which can be viewed under the following link:

Through compiling the documents the consortium has made use of information obtained from users and associations.
The listed uses are taken into account by the Fels-Werke for the three registrations.

     2. Products without compulsory substances

These products contain limestone minerals. This substance is exempted from the mandate of being registered, documented in art.2 (7) (b) and attachment V para. 7 of the REACH-regulation.

3. Safety data sheets

Safety data sheets are available for FELS products according to art. 31 and attachment II of the REACH-regulation at the sales department. Attachments with the exposition scenarios are currently being supplemented on the basis of the chemical safety report. We can provide you with the supplemented safety data sheets as of 30/11/2010.
    
4. Substances of very high concern (SVHC)

For substances of very high concern (SVHC) REACH insists that a certification is required and it is mandatory under Article 33, ECHA has published a list of the related SVHC´s:

Non of the FELS products contain substances mentioned in the list published.
