Fels-Werke supports the preservation of mining history in Lerbach
This year’s plant managers’ meeting was held in Lerbach (near Osterode am Harz). The Heimatstube Lerbach e.V. provided the 15 participants with the opportunity to learn about the mining history of the village, which dates back to 1530, and the more than 250 red ironstone mines that once existed here. In a hike accompanied by helpers from the local history library, the group walked along the ironstone nature trail, along which they also visited some of the old mine mouths, to the Weintraube mine.
As a thank you for the great social program and in recognition of the commitment to maintaining and preserving mining traditions, the Heimatstube was promised a substantial donation. A symbolic cheque was presented to the board of the association a short time later at the Weintraube mine.
