Fels supports the restoration of the “Iberger Albertturm”

The “Iberger Albertturm” is a striking landmark on the edge of the western Harz Mountains and is located in the immediate vicinity of our Winterberg quarry. It is a highly frequented excursion destination for hikers/bikers and a favourite among the citizens of the region. Unfortunately, the neighbouring tavern is currently in a very poor condition and can only be renovated and saved with considerable effort.

Appeals for donations have led to great support and willingness to help among the population. However, the funds received are not enough to revitalise this well-known and attractive excursion destination. Fels became aware of the appeal for donations and visited the site to see for himself the professional work carried out by the volunteers. After internal consultation, it was agreed to support the impressive efforts of the ‘Albertturm team’ and to help with a five-figure sum. As a direct neighbour of the Bad Grundner landmark, it was obvious that we should provide substantial support.

André Göbel (Münchehof plant manager) handed over the symbolic cheque to everyone’s surprise and delight.

Completion of the interior is scheduled for the course of June. The outdoor catering should open around the beginning of July. Given the speed and commitment shown by all the volunteers, it can be firmly assumed that these goals will be achieved.
