Fels-Werke receives funding from the state of Saxony-Anhalt for the renovation of tracks

This year, the state of Saxony-Anhalt is providing the Fels-Werke with 300,000 euros in funding for the renovation of tracks in the Kaltes Tal and Rübeland lime works. Minister Dr. Lydia Hüskens (Infrastructure and Digital Affairs) came to Rübeland to hand over the approval notice. “With this financial support, a large proportion of the limestone extracted in the region can also be transported by rail in the future,” said the Minister. This will relieve our roads and protect the environment, emphasized Dr. Hüskens. “We would like to thank the state of Saxony-Anhalt as a strong partner for its support in expanding and maintaining our rail infrastructure. The state funding makes a significant contribution to the fact that more and more transports to our customers can be shifted from road to rail,” explained Dr. Burkhard Naffin (CEO Fels-Werke). This means a significant reduction in transport-relatedCO2 emissions and relieves the neighboring communities of truck traffic, he emphasized.
