Hydrated lime

Application

Fels hydrated lime is mainly used in the building materials industry for plaster and mortar applications, in environmental protection for water and waste water treatment and in air pollution control. Like fine ground lime, it acts as mineral reagent and/or chemical base.

Production

Selected fine ground high-calcium limes are further refined into hydrated lime (slaked lime). This is done by controlled reaction with water in dry slaking machines. Particle size, chemical purity, solubility in water and the degree of whiteness are key quality criteria.
