Limestone (rough)
Application
Rough limestone is particularly suitable for substructures, drainage and slope stabilisation measures. In dry stone walls or gabions, as a decorative element, the light colour of the stone is visually effective. Armourstone made of hard limestone is characterised by exceptionally low water absorption and the resulting outstanding frost resistance. Other areas of application are the sugar and soda industry as well as the iron industry.
Quarrying
By drilling and blasting the in-situ limestone, a coarse aggregate is extracted, which is further processed by crushing and classifying for the relevant purposes. A drill dust analysis carried out in advance by the rock quality assurance department provides information on the chemical purity of the limestone to be quarried.
